Interior Construction Supervisor

Type : Full-Time   Experience : Mid-Senior level   Function : Supervisor  Location : Holland


The best candidate will be able to take projects from start to finish, display a strong ability to multitask, hit crucial KPIs and ensure that the project is properly staffed and supplied with the relevant materials and man-power.

The ideal candidate will have experience and understanding in high speed yacht construction, managing the interior production trades and subcontractors, overseeing the quality, building sequence, project schedule and budget.

  • High experience in yacht interior fitting and exterior public areas
  • Review Technical drawings and information prior installation
  • Be able to verify changes and cost & time impact during the build
  • Identify sequences of installation
  • Preparation of the work and scheduling
  • Coordinating all the interior trades work on a daily base: organizing short daily meetings with the internal and subcontractor foreman to ensure that all the crews can work with no disruption according to the schedule.
  • Verify the material is delivered at the expected time.
  • Quality control and assurance during and after the production activities carried out and ensuring the cleanness of rooms/area’s at the end of every day.
  • Tracking all the non-conformity and documenting with photos
  • Clear, transparent communication and professional representation of the company with respect to both internal and external contacts
  • Competence in management, presentation and moderation
  • Result oriented as part of a team as well as independently
  • Knowledge in interior joinery design is an advantage.
  • Have a clear understanding of marine systems in the interior areas of a yachts: HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical devices and panels…
  • Occasional travel between yards and the interior manufacturing sites.
  • Reporting to the Upper Management the progress of the build on a monthly base or as required


Based in the Holland, and will involve occasional international travel. A valid EU passport is required.


A minimum of 5-7 year experience in managing the complete interior fitting on superyachts in the 40-60 meter range.

Interior Technical Coordinator

Type : Full-Time   Experience : Mid-Senior level   Function : Design   Location : Monaco

Palmer Johnson requires an Interior Technical Coordinator to be based at its design and engineering office in Monaco.

Job Description:

Reporting directly to the Engineering manager

  • Budget Control
  • Liaise between Client designers and PJ
  • Liaise between Interior Outfit companies and Client designers
  • Calculate and control all interior commercial  activities
  • Review Designers drawings and information, checking for changes and cost impact
  • Review Interior Outfit companies drawings to ensure conformity and control costs
  • Raise Change Orders


Based in the Monaco office with trips to Interior Designer and Interior Outfit company.

Desired Skills & Experience:

A minimum of 3-5 years experience in managing the complete interior process on superyachts in the 40-60 metre range .

A Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture would be helpful.

Purchasing Manager

Job Description:

Marine Electrical Engineer

Type : Full-Time   Experience : Mid-Senior level   Function : Engineering   Location : Monaco


The ideal candidate will come from an Electrical/Technical Background and be experienced in Designing and running electrical projects within the Superyacht industry. This department will supply the Production team with a huge wealth of information that is critical to the overall build, and so is a pivotal position within the overall company.  Flexibility in working with both Design and Production teams is required to ensure that a varied range of projects are fulfilled to the best of the team’s ability. 


  • Perform basic calculation applying electrical engineering principals, techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Produce detailed and informative documentation to Subcontractors and to Production
  • Prepare technical and purchase specifications for electrical systems and equipment:
    • Electrical
    • Entertainment
    • Lighting & systems control
    • Navigation Package
  • Ensuring materials sourcing and costing are overseen so that Production is fully prepared at all stages of the build. 
  • Develop test procedures to ensure equipment and system performance.
  • Holding regular meetings between the various shipbuilding teams, making sure that all projects are running on schedule. 
  • Working closely with the other lead engineers to troubleshoot and rectify any issues that arise. 
  • Assist with showboat automation, control, generation, lighting and power distribution system testing.
  • Responsible for classification at all stages of the build to ensure regulations and requirements are correctly applied.
  • Research and integrate new equipment and technology.
  • Reporting the progress to the Management team on a monthly based.
  • Constantly research and integrate new equipment and technology.


The ideal candidate will be able to speak fluent English. The degree level expected is Electronic or Electrical Engineering, and be used to supervising production teams within a relevant sector.

Minimum 8 years of professional marine engineering experience.

Proficiency in using industry-standard electrical system design and analysis.  Extensive marine electrical shipbuilding experience with power generation, distribution and control systems.  Experience with testing automation and control systems based on PLC technology.

Marine Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Marine Mechanical Engineer to work in our design team in Monaco on a new and innovative range of Superyachts.

Job Description:

  • Coordinate and manage external engineering companies contracted by Palmer Johnson Yachts.
  • Responsible for P&ID design of all shipboard mechanical systems.
  • Design marine mechanical systems by applying principles of mechanics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials. 
  • Optimize systems design and engineering for manufacturing, by researching cutting edge manufacturing and assembly methods and materials. 
  • Understand critical interfaces between structure, systems and interior design. 
  • Develop marine mechanical systems in line with vessel specifications. 
  • Responsible for systems compliance with regulatory bodies. To include diagram submission & review of Design Appraisal Documents to the following societies: “MCA, SOLAS, Lloyd’s & DNV.” 
  • 3d modeling of marine mechanical systems ensuring the most efficient use of space in respect to equipment & system function. 
  • Management of production drawings. 
  • Negotiation of equipment contracts with vendors. 
  • Management of technical information between clients, equipment manufactures, and outside design firms. 
  • Review of Change Orders, to include costing analysis. 
  • Responsible for Commissioning of Equipment and start up during vessel launch. 
  • Perform systems diagnostics during dock trials and record performance data during sea trials. 
  • Responsible for Crew training of mechanical systems & preparation of Operations manuals. 
  • Prepares reports for systems improvements. 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor and/orMaster's degree in marine / mechanical engineering with a minimum of 7- years of experience in Super Yacht design engineering and / or ship yard engineering experience.
  • Competence with 3-D CAD applications such as Solid Works, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Inventor, Rhinoceros, Pro-Engineer, Ship Constructor and/or Solid Edge.
  • Good verbal & written communications skills.  

Comprehensive knowledge of the following Super Yacht systems:

HVAC, Fresh water distribution, Desalination Systems, Waste Treatment Systems,

Black/Gray Drainage, Fuel Transfer System, Fuel Service, Lube Oil, Central Hydraulics,

Steering Hydraulics, Main Engine Exhaust, Generator Exhaust, Seawater Cooling Systems,

Engine Room Ventilation, Bilge/Ballast, Fire Suppression Systems, Scuppers & Overboard drainage, Tank Ventilation, Refrigeration Systems.

Naval Architect

We are currently in search of an experienced Naval Architect who will be a part of our design team in Monaco and will report directly to the Head of Engineering.

Job Description:

  • General engineering and structural calculations as well as naval architecture calculations.
  • Ability to communicate with and be responsible for obtaining plan approval from Class and Flag Societies.
  • Ensuring designs adhere to project specifications and to document control rules.
  • Working closely with our international design team.
  • Designing in Auto-Cad and 3D software applications.
  • Frequent communication with the design team, suppliers, clients, and project managers.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Formal qualification as a Naval Architect with 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with Classification Society Regulations and Flag State Rules is essential.
  • Experience in engineering calculations, hydrostatics & stability.
  • Experience with aluminum and composite construction is essential.
  • Design / Drafting in Auto-Cad and 3D software applications for production.
